ACQUIRE A VIANNEY HALTER WATCH
HOW CAN I GET ONE ?
Vianney Halter sells his watches directly to the end customer and only works on a piece-to-piece basis, by request. Working alone at the bench, he only makes a few pieces per year. For any request, please contact him through the form.
Another way to acquire a Vianney Halter watch is to survey the second hand watch market. Prior to acquire a second hand piece, make sure that the winding box or display case, authenticity certificate and setting tool (whenever relevant) are included. Please also note that such a watch likely requires a full overhaul to guarantee safe use.
VIANNEY HALTER WATCHES
Being sophisticated mechanisms, Vianney Halter watches require regular servicing.
The oil droplets, which are essential in lubricating the moving parts of the movement, dry out after a period of time. They have to be removed and replaced, so as to avoid premature wear and tear of mechanical parts.
Your watch should be serviced at least every five years, even if it is working well. It should be noted that after five years, the movement has been running for more than 43’800 hours, which is far more than the 4’000 hours or 20’000 km service interval of a motor-car. Regular servicing will help to keep your watch in perfect running condition for many years.
Please note that the oils will break down even if the watch does not run. Service regularity is crucial regardless of your watch usage.
Furthermore, even if you are a careful owner, your watch can be damaged when scratched, shocked, dropped, or improperly used. This requires the watch to be taken back to the workshop to be fixed. The case will be mended so as to make the watch as close to its former brand new state as possible.
